Eleven Years Old

My sweet Finn T turned 11 this week.  I can't help thinking that this is the end of something.  This year marks his last year in elementary school.  Hoping for a few more years of sweet baby innocence.

For the record books...Finn loves Harry Potter, Star Wars, running, soccer and hockey, all statistics related to sports (any sport), his Dalmation, Sean and Isaac, maple brown sugar oatmeal, milk, his Ripstick and all soft and snugly blankets.  Sue gave him a Target gift card for his birthday and he bought a body pillow with a cover that "feels like a lamb" in his words.

Finn is very sensitive, for better or worse.  On the better end, he came home from camp this year with a lot of reflections about what it means to be intentional and to have integrity.  He was frustrated when he said that after camp, he was trying to be nicer to Seamus but this was met with 8 year old feistiness.  Overall, it's been interesting to watch Finn become more self reflective this summer.

And he is a handsome devil, isn't he?

Birthday Cubs Sox Game

It's finally almost his real birthday...Happy 11th, Finn T!

Our neighbor, Jim Zwit, was also honored for his military service in Vietnam.  Great night to be there!  This is an article about Jim from the Chicago Tribune from 2011.  He's a remarkable man and certainly one of Margaret's favorite treat givers.
