Girl Friends!

Saoirse had a friend over today!

Meet Lily Heflin of Spring Avenue.

Saoirse was very happy (as you can tell) to have Lily over without her mama.

It was quite a big deal.

They really had a good time. Seamus didn't quite know what to make of all this.

Turkeylicious

Saoirse cannot get enough of the Thanksgiving art.

She tells anyone who will listen - "I made dis."

And she also thinks that each and every piece that she makes is worthy of display.

Get ready for all of the turkeys, corn and apples hanging about at our house!

Wiped

Saoirse is wiped out after a morning at school.

She comes home, requests her pj's, gets her nunny and lays on the kitchen floor while I make our standard Tuesday afternoon grilled cheese (no one else likes them but us and we are the only ones home on Tuesdays).

She does perk up for the actual meal....which today started out with some M&M's.

Saoirse prefers her dessert first.

Party! Party!

Thank goodness for Christopher Columbus....

It was "big" Ellen's birthday so we all (Mike, Seamus, Sue, Ellen, Stephanie and 12 kids) had lunch and birthday cake at Sue's. Finn came to this party in morning, went to his friend Thomas's party and returned for another round at Sue's.

We went home, put the Fuzz to bed and were inspired to make a scarecrow with our neighbors.

Mom's bottom and Dad's top make a nice combo, don't they?

Ended the day with a Giles/McNeela/Murray pizza party and a few rousing games of Kick the Can, Cops and Robbers and football.

And now everyone is fast asleep.

Great Grandma Gladys

Seamus and Saoirse learned what it would be like to have a Great Grandma yesterday.

We visited Cormac's Great Grandma Gladys Heenan (GGG) at her apartment building in LaGrange Park. GGG is 93 years old and is quick as a fox.

We ate:

Fruit Loops

Chocolate Donuts

Orange Juice

French Toast

GGG let us watch Elmo at in her apartment as well.

Needless to say the trip was a success.

All of GGG's residents were THRILLED to see this bunch. We had a great time hanging out in her courtyard entertaining the masses.

GGG's apartment looked exactly like Nan's. It made me want to cry a little...

All of her pictures, even a gold shamrock hanging on the wall and a nice pink recliner for watching her shows. I think that Nan and Grandma would have liked this crazy crew.

We're going back for Halloween.

Proud Artist

Fuzz is so proud of her "Apple Picture." She points it out every time she passes through the door. I think it must be the first piece of art that she has had displayed. Poor Fuzz.

Last but not least...

...the Fuzz goes to "school"!

She did very well today. There was some whining but then she went in without me. I watched her on the monitor while she wandered around a bit but there were no tears. Miss Rhonda said she asked for me a lot but didn't cry.

Saoirse was very proud of herself at the end of the day.

Workin' Girl

Make Believe

Saoirse has recently reached my most favorite developmental stage. The Land of Make Believe. The Fuzz will sit in the front room for 30 minutes at a time putting baby to bed, reading her a book, singing "Twinkle Twinkle" to baby, arranging the house, putting "Daddy" in a chair and racing cars. It is hilarious to spy on her little world.

2nd Birthday Blast!

Miss Saoirse woke up quite happy on her 2nd Birthday.

She sang "Happy Birthday" to herself, she sang to the plastic fish in her crib aquarium

...she sang "Happy Birthday" all day long.

I took Saoirse to breakfast for bagels and cream cheese. Bagels are just a conduit for the cream cheese. She ate all of her cream cheese as well as mine...and 1/2 of 1/2 of a bagel.

We had some pink cupcakes.

Saoirse went out to test her new scooter and helmut.

And then she took out the garbage. Doesn't seem like something that a person should have to do on her birthday but it's one of her favorite things to do.

"Own Seat"

Each time we get in the car, Saoirse runs to the door, declaring "own seat! own seat!" translated as, she wants to climb into her own seat. Well, needless to say, she never gets into her "own seat." She sits in "T-T's seat", "Meamie's seat" and "Mama's seat" all before I tear her out of the front seat to get her into her "own seat."

Starting the Garden

Saoirse assists as we attempt to start some tomatoes and green beans.

Homemade Pasta

Dad outdid himself today. He let 4 (sometimes 5) children make homemade pasta with him.

Finn, not a fan of pasta, actually eats the homemade variety. Little snob.
