They're back

Well, they're back.

Both boys finished they're Park District sports camps today.

Both received a medal for their stellar participation. Seamus was most thrilled.

"My first medal," he kept whispering to himself.

He was parading it around the neighborhood this evening.

Go, Seamus. Go.

Counting Down the Days

Finn T. is counting down the days!

Two more school days until he is officially a 1st Grader.

He completed his last reading log for homework this week (pictured above).

Finn made our lunch today!

He was very generous with the pepperoni and cheese which made his "customers" very happy.

Finn's Grin

Finn lost a tooth! Corn on the cob did the trick. However, he seems to have swallowed the tooth. He was not concerned about this. Finn wrote to the Fairy that he accidentally swallowed the tooth and put the note under his pillow. Good to go.

I suggested we put Finn under a pillow but he didn't find that very funny.

Back to the Old Neighborhood

Finn T. was one happy clam when we went back to the old neighborhood to have some Piece pizza (you've been there). He ate 3 very large pieces himself.

Loosey Goosey

Finn T. officially has a loose tooth. The dentist said his two bottom teeth were loose, but really, you could hardly tell. Within the last week one of his bottom teeth has become very wiggly.

Kind of made me a little misty eyed....my baby.

Uncle Sam is in New Jersey for work and Dad went to the Hawks

game so Aunt Meg and Liv came for dinner.

Homemade Pasta

Dad outdid himself today. He let 4 (sometimes 5) children make homemade pasta with him.

Finn, not a fan of pasta, actually eats the homemade variety. Little snob.

Keeping Busy

"Spring Break" was slightly springy today with a high of 49.

We ventured to the Zoo and painted our faces. The Fuzz is a bird...eating a chicken nugget.

Finn has been busying himself with our castle built from all recycled materials.

And we made breakfast for dinner. Always a treat!

Flubber!

We're on Spring Break this week (even if Spring doesn't show up). We were quite excited to have B over for a whole day. We made Flubber at the recommendation of Gina Rennpage Gabel. BIg Fun!

Mix warm water, glue, food coloring and Borax...

and voila! Flubber!

It bounces, isn't slimy despite all of the glue and is super fun to play with.

Saoirse did not agree with this review.

Traveling Home

We went to Wisconsin this weekend. Nine kids, six adults -- fun was had by all (most of the time). Finn and Seamus actually watched a new movie - One Hundred and One Dalmations. We played outside, stayed up late ate junk all weekend.

Uncle Sam turned the BIg 3-0 this week. Uncle Sam is not featured in these photos, but here we are enjoying his cake!

Finn, Seamie and their friend Jane were the caboose of the Christmas procession at Christmas Eve mass. It was adorable (and a little nerve wracking because Seamus was holding an open flame.)
