We Built This City

Seamus and his class are learning about urban, suburban and rural communities.  

They spent a lot of time this week constructing this city out of recycled items from home and a lot of Scotch tape.  He really enjoyed it!

Top Chefs

There has been a lot of baking and cooking going on around here due to all of Food Network competition shows such as Cake Wars and Kids Top Chef.

Finn made a cake for the Super Bowl entirely by himself.  He makes the family salad almost ever night, makes his own eggs and tried his hand at a chicken dish last week.  No, this has not resulted in trying any new food...one can only wish.

Saoirse has gotten into the act as well with lots of chopping assistance and some very fancy Valentine cookies.  She tried to copy Finn's cake but that did not go so well.  She has been brining cook books home from the library each week.  They seem to all be focused on desserts.  Surprise!  

Father Daughter Dance

The much anticipated (by Saoirse) Father-Daughter Dance was held at Ogden Avenue School last night.  They dance the night away until Dad was ditched for girlfriends...

He's Finally 8!

Let the Birthday Begin

Seamus' kicked off birthday week by having his two best school friends, Andrew and Cormac sleepover.  Seamus requested chicken, s'mores cupcakes and chocolate chip pancakes for the dining options.  Legos, Lazer tag and the Xbox were the primary activities.  Some sleep was had....
